As most of my friends know I am obsessed with fitness. When I am not designing jewelry I am planning my next workout and torture session in the gym. My focus and determination in the gym help me to stay on track in all other areas of my life. There are two people in particular that inspire me daily to keep pushing to reach my goals, Alicia Marie and Jamie Eason. I was lucky enough to connect with Jamie Eason through facebook and had the opportunity to send her some jewelry.
To my surprise she posted this picture and her love for Aphrodite Jewelry on her Facebook page for all to see!!! So very exciting.

About "Aphrodite" and designer Heidi Adams

Aphrodite is a goddess born of the sea: she is primeval, oceanic in her feminine power. She is from the beginning of time and holds court at the bottom of the sea. In psychological terms, she reigns in the unconscious, symbolized by the waters of the sea. She is scarcely approachable on ordinary conscious terms; one might as well confront a tidal wave. One can admire, worship or be crushed by such archetypal femininity.
Every woman has an Aphrodite in her. She is recognized by her overwhelming femininity and vast impersonal, unrelatable majesty.Aphrodite is the principle of mirroring every experience back into our own consciousness. Aphrodite Jewelry was launched in the summer of 2000 in Malibu, Ca. A born visionary Heidi Adams began her artistry at the age of eight. The goddess Aphrodite symbolizes the essence of beauty, sensuality and passion.
Driven by an endless source of creativity Heidi is inspired by the Hawaiian Islands where she lives. Heidi designs and makes each piece of jewelry by hand. Selecting rare gem stones, vintage charms, chains and wire. Heidi creates "Unique" one of a kind jewelry naming each piece after her friends and family members.
There is a decadent simplicity to Aphrodite Jewelry, bringing out the true beauty, style and sophistication in all women.

The Creative Process

The creative process is always different for me depending on where my inspiration comes from and is entirely driven by my muse. I don't have any control or say in the matter. My muse starts to crank like a well oiled machine and keeps me creating until I can't see straight anymore. It's an adrenaline rush like no other and it doesn't let up until all the materials are used and the Jewelry is finished.

I sometimes wish that the process was a little less intrusive, because there really is no telling when the idea's are going to come in... it can be at 3am or 4:45 am and I'm laying wide awake with images of designs running through my head like a picture show.

Since I made the move to Hawaii...across the great divide... the "Creative Process" is more intense. It could be the fact that I design in a home totally embraced by Makaha Valley and the energy is very powerful, It's alive and has a very strong pulse.

This is the first time I have documented my experience with the "Creative Process." I wanted to share it with my friends, family and clients. It is a gift that I am truly grateful for. I love what I do... nothing thrills me more than bringing a piece of jewelry to life. A very dear friend once told me that people love my jewelry because I take everything that is good about me and channel that into each piece that I make. I never thought about it like that before because it comes so naturally to me and has for many years...she was absolutely right.

Here is my most recent experience with my muse. Our inspiration is a vision of several mermaids surrounding a treasure chest, they are pulling gem stones and beads out of the chest, trying the jewelry on, admiring themselves in mirrors. Simply divine....
